A Beginner's Guide to the World of Human Hair Wigs

Wigs are trending in the beauty industry. They’ve been a longtime friend of event-going celebrities who are looking to quickly change their hairstyle for the red carpet without effecting their own hair. But apart from the world of stardom, wigs have been gaining a lot of attention on social media, where skilled hairstylists showcase their magic. Every other day we see a stylist going viral for efficiently blending a unit to the point where it looks exactly like the client’s own hair.

#1. How much does a human hair wig cost?

This depends on the quality of the hair, length of the wig and the hair that is being used. Indique human hair wigs starts at $449 onwards.

#2. How do you moisturize a dry wig?

First determine why it is dry. Is it because it has product build up or is it because of the type of hair and environment. If it is product build up a thorough shampoo and deep condition followed by a leave in and lastly a small amount of oil. If the hair is just dry to environment or hair type then tackle hydration in two steps. Water based products first. Water based products can be absorbed into the hair. Then after, just a leave in conditioner. End the process with oil based product to lock moisture in.

#3. What is the best place to buy wigs online?

It completely depends on your requirement and budget. Alot of companies offer cheap quality human hair wigs at a very low price but some offer good quality at affordable pricing. But it's quite difficult to determine the quality of the wigs being purchased online So we suggest going for brands that has good exchange policy. Indique takes pride in providing the best quality wigs at affordable pricing with easy to follow exchange policy and the best part is that if you are not satisfied with the quality or by mistake you ordered the wrong product and wants an exchange at the store, you get the leverage to do that too.

#4. How do you style a new human hair wig?

There are various ways that you can style a wig based on preference. If you are looking for a natural look then we suggest customizing the wigs. Customizing the wig for a more natural appearance includes tweezing the hairline, bleaching the knots of the lace, and molding the part using a styling foam and water.

#5. What products can you use on human hair wigs?

The best products to use is sulphate free products and products that are great for maintaining moisture. A large amount of a product is not recommended, you don't want weight down the hair. It's better to use professional grade products. At home you can use Indique Essentials Shampoo/Conditioner/Heat Guard/Oil to protect your hair better.

#6. What type of wig is most comfortable?

It depends completely on your requirement. But we believe a wig with adjustable straps that allow you to adjust the size appropriately as per your comfort.

#7. How do you wash a human hair wig?

Place the wig in bowl with warm water. Then apply shampoo directly to the hair. In a downward motion we suggest finger combing product into hair until completely foamy. Then rinse hair letting the water fall from top to end. Follow up with a conditioner and let that sit for anywhere from 30min-12hrs depending on time available. Rinse that out letting the water fall from top to ends

#8. How do you care for a human hair wig?

Always handle your wig gently, brush your wig with a wig brush before washing to remove tangles. Based on your lifestyle I would recommend washing your wig every 2 to 3 weeks. Then do the shampoo/condition/leave in/hair oil/heat guard process. We recommend storing the wigs in their original packaging or a silk bag.
